Uno de las recompensas de ser mamá es cuando ves a tus hijos llegar a un momento importante de su crecimiento. Con Michelle fue curioso verlo por primera vez, por la novedad del asunto, y con Leonardo el poder anticipar cómo se acerca cada vez más a lograr una nueva hazaña.

En las últimas semanas se ha acelerado el desarrollo de Leo y llegó a un logro más: dio sus primeros pasos (el video está a la mitad de este post).

Primero parecía algo inseguro, pero ahora cada vez trata distancias más extensas. Se ve tan lindo, pequeño y tembloroso, pero con una extraña confianza en su sonrisa.

En el caso de Michelle, cada día está más grande, casi cada vez que la veo me parece mayor. Es curioso compararla con su hermano (en el tamaño) y ver cómo ella aprende más cosas cada día. Ya sabe sumar y restar, escribe su nombre y copia palabras de la televisión.

Entre las cosas buenas que hace es jugar con su hermano todos los días, de hecho le gusta perseguirlo gateando o hacerlo reir. No es tampoco un angelito todo el tiempo, la última cosa que hizo fue gritarle a su maestra cuando le pidió que se apurara (luego le pidió disculpas).

Pero bueno, van creciendo y supongo que tendrán sus problemitas de vez en cuando.

One rewarding aspect of being a mother is when you see your children reach milestone in their development. With Michelle was the novelty of seeing this for the first time, and with Leo is the anticipation of watching him getting closer to accomplishing a new feat.

And in the last weeks Leo's development has been accelerating and has reached a new milestone: he's beginning to walk.

He first seemed unsure to try, but now he has been trying larger distances. He's so cute when he does this, shaky and small, but with a strange confidence that he shows with a smile.

Michelle seems bigger and bigger every time I see here, and it's kind of curious to compare her to his brother (in sizes) and also to see how much she learns everyday that goes by. She already knows how to add and subtract, and writes her name, and copies words from the TV.

Among the good things she does is that she plays with her brother every day, she likes to chase him (crawling) or make him laugh. She isn't an angel all the time, the last thing she did was to yell her teacher when she was asking her to hurry up. Later she apologized with her.

But well, they are growing up and I guess they will have their setbacks ever once in a while.
